Don’t let Zertine’s gentle outward appearance fool you. When you’re in charge of the biggest Robot Workshop on space station Norpopolis, you can’t afford to be a soft touch.

“Yea,” Zertine says, “with the sudden increase in bot breakdowns, there’s no room for nice. Unless you’re one particularly cute bot called BLINNK. Mm-mmm, I would never tire of reprogramming their sensors.”

“The Workshop keeps the bots going, and the bots keep Norpopolis going, so you could say that the Workshop is the heartbeat of the Space Station,” they say.

“But just recently, more and more bots are breaking down, and there’s no reason for it. I bring them in, strip them down, fix them up and still they don’t function. I tell you, it’s a mystery beyond the wisdom of Norp.”

As we talk, two Pushbots and a Vacubot are brought in for repairs.

“I just don’t get it. Something is happening. Something bad. And I mean to get to the bottom of it.”

Just then there’s a Thunk Thunk as the Transport Tube delivers two newcomers to the Workshop.

“BLINNK! You came!” Zertine says, and our interview ends.
